Version 0.1.75 Preview

It's that time of the week again, where I try and get the release ready for 21:00! This week, there's been some kind of miracle, as this is actually 30 minutes early (has this ever happened before?).

I feel like I could have got a lot more done this week (don't be fooled by the size of the patch notes; they're mainly just minor bug fixes), as I still didn't manage to get the next stage of the main quest into the game. For the full release next week, I'm just going to be focusing on that and bug fixes (and polishing some of these sex scenes).

I actually have a couple more big things I need to do in the engine as well (despite me saying I was done with that last week), so there's plenty of work for me to get on with! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the changes in this preview version, and I hope that there aren't any huge game-breaking bugs like last week!

Just as one final reminder, these preview builds are likely to contain a lot of bugs and half-finished content, so if you don't want to deal with annoying bugs, please wait for next week's release! (Although there seem to be bugs in every release...)

  • Gameplay:
    • Added: More colours for hair, fur, and eye dying at Kate's shop.
      Added: The ability to use transformative potions on random NPCs. (I'll add some reactions to their transformations soon.)
      Improved: NPC randomisation:
      Attributes are now based on their race. (Combat may be a little harder now...)
      Body parts are randomised, based on their race's average.
      There's a chance for NPCs to have a fetish (with a small chance of having two). I'll add more fetish interaction content soon!
      They now drop a random amount of money, between 10 and 10 + NPCLevel*10.
      All clothing and piercings are now fully randomised. (There might be some strange clothing combinations; I'll improve this soon.)
      Added: A small chance for random NPCs to be a trap. (I'll add some control over gender ratios in the options for the next version.)
      Temporarily added: Innoxia's gift; A demon TF potion.
      Added: Vicky now sells random potions as well as weapons.
      Harpies now drop perfume or bubblegum lollipops.

    • Increased base escape chance from 10% to 30%.

    • Added: Fishnet stockings.
      Added: Fishnet top.
      Added: Thigh high boots.
      Added: Open-front cardigan.
  • Items:
    • Added: Mother's Milk. A drink that speeds up pregnancy.
  • Misc:
    • Improved: Body descriptions. Both on the selfie page, and for NPCs.
      Changed 'save persistent character' mechanics. Now it's a toggle-able option, so you have the option to remove the character and still have sex with them.
      Added feedback message to game saves and overwrites.
      Spent a long time trying to figure out the memory leak issue, to no avail. (I shall carry on trying!)
      Very slightly tweaked chances for clothing to spawn as either jinxed or enchanted.
      Added clit size to body description.
      Slightly improved leg transformation descriptions.
  • Bugs:
    • Fixed issue where asking for pullout in dominant sex would freeze the game.
      Fixed issue where Lilaya's non-sex content would be locked if she was pregnant.
      If Lilaya is already pregnant, she no longer gets angry if you don't pull out.
      Fixed Promiscuity pill not working.
      Fixed typos and instances of incorrect gender pronouns.
      Fixed some text not rendering in orgasm descriptions.
      Fixed inaccurate counts of submissive and dominant sex at the bottom of each NPC's description.
      Fixed incorrect gender names for offspring.
      Lilaya now no longer asks for you to cum in her.
      Minor fixes to some reported dialogue inconsistencies.
      Fixed eye recolouring in Kate's shop.
      Fixed bug in description when your partner takes their own virginity.
      Fixed demons not recognising you after the first encounter.
      Post-sex succubus scenes now have the 'explore' option enabled.
      Fixed bug where you'd be unable to pick up a stackable object if your inventory was full, even if you were already in possession of an instance of that stackable object.
      Fixed bug where selfie leg descriptions were based on arm race.
      Kate's inventory will now start sorted, and she will spawn with at least 1 of every piercing type for sale.
      Random NPC post-sex descriptions no longer say how exhausted they are if you didn't let them orgasm.
      Fixed bug with larger text sizes causing enchanting and inventory screens to not display correctly.
      Fixed bug where removing a jinx from an equipped item would leave you stuck with the negative attribute modifier.
      Fixed description of giving your partner a facial while wearing a condom (you now take it off as you pull back from their throat).
      Eye recolouring is no longer seen under Kate's 'skin recolouring' service menu.

    Targets for 0.1.75, wikia, and discord

    First of all, I just want to say a big thank you to DesuDemona, lovelesspoison, and Blue999, for setting up and contributing to a wikia for Lilith's Throne!
    DesuDemona asked me to mention that it's still in a bit of a rough state at the moment. It's coming along really quickly though!

    Secondly, there have been loads of people joining the discord, so thanks to everyone who's jumped on and left feedback!

    And lastly, it's time to set out version 0.1.75's targets! The full version of 0.1.75 will be released on May 5th, but there will also be a preview version released on April 28th.


    Goals for version 0.1.75:

    Add the next stage of the main quest, along with a related sex scene.

    Polish sex scenes and NPC interaction scenes.

    Fix more bugs!

    Work on making the engine more writer friendly. Improving the parsing system, as well as moving the game's Dialogue objects into a data-driven format.

    Work on making save games compatible between versions. This may take a while...

    Fix the memory leak! This is the major cause of those random crashes some of you have been experiencing, so getting this fixed is a priority. (I should have fixed this ages ago...)

    Version 0.1.7 Release

    Edit: I did a hotfix to deal with the bug that was causing crafted potions to be un-drinkable. I've updated the download links with the hotfixed version.

    So, it actually did turn out to be a bit ambitious to do the TF rework in version 0.1.7, but at least it's done now! That was the last major addition to core gameplay mechanics, so from now all, almost all of the time I'm putting into Lilith's Throne will be focused on adding content! (There are still a lot of things to do in the engine, but nothing super major.)

    Implementing the new enchanting mechanics took far longer that I thought it would (I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that by now), so I didn't have time to write the new sex scene for the next part of the main quest. As a result, I'm choosing to leave the new content for the main story out of this version, as it's going to be really heavily tied-in with the new sex scene.

    Oh, and I forgot to mention this for the last release, but I just wanted to say a public thanks to IxFa for providing me with some useful information on parsing systems. It's going to make it a lot easier for contributors to write content for the game (when I open it up for submissions at version 0.2.0). A Lilith's Throne discord server has also been set up, which you can join here: discord link

    Thank you also to everyone for leaving your bug reports and suggestions in the blog's comments (as well as those of you who leave them on TFGamesSite or Fenoxo forums)! You've all been really super helpful!

    Also: I'm going to have to go pretty much immediately after posting this, but I'll be back on to respond to any bugs in a few hours! (I'll also have time then to respond to the unanswered comments some of you have left in other posts.)

    • Added support in the engine for using templating.

    • Added: You can now get Lilaya and Kate pregnant. (Their sex scenes, along with the pregnancy reactions, will be expanded in future versions!)
      Added (temporarily): Random attackers can now be harpies. (This isn't in keeping with the lore, but I've put them in here until I can add the next section of the story.)
      Slightly tweaked the way pregnancy chances are calculated. (It should be easier to get pregnant now if you have high fertility.)
  • UI:
    • Added: Another row for response buttons. There were far too many options during sex for just 10 response buttons, so I increased it to 15.
      Added: The ability to move around between responses with the movement keys, and also to select a highlighted response with the enter key. If travel is active, you can hold down control and use the movement keys to move the pointer instead of moving around the map. I'll improve this some more for the next version.
  • Sex:
    • Added a chance for you partner to request a creampie or for you to pull out.
  • Inventory:
    • Fixed item sorting, so now items should always stay in the same order when picking up/dropping them.
      Added 'take all', 'drop all', and 'sell all' options for dealing with stacks of items, weapons, and clothing.
  • Bugs:
    • Succubi should no longer have nipple virginity.
      Fixed a lot of bugs related to the new response selection cursor.
      Pullout & creampie requests now reset after orgasm. (So if your partner is going for multiple orgasms, you can request creampie/pullout each time.)
      Fixed a lot of reported typos and 'command_unknown' errors.
      Fixed 'do nothing' sex action erroneously referencing the denial fetish.
      Phone menu's highlighting should now show which type of quest got updated.
      Fixed some incorrectly available action bugs in the kneeling position sex scene.
      Fixed bug related to continuing penetration when switching between positions.
      Fixed 'herm fun' option in 69 availability.
      Fixed being able to find empty potions in alleyways.
      Fixed item encyclopedia not working.

    Very slight delay

    This is a super quick post just to say that there's going to be a tiny delay. I just packaged the game and had it all set to post, but when I ran it, it's not working. I think I know what's going wrong though, it shouldn't take too long to fix.

    Version 0.1.7 Preview

    Ok, so here's version 0.1.7's preview build, which means that this is just a snapshot of what the game currently looks like on my system (without any polishing or thorough testing being done). I'm just releasing it for those of you who don't mind experiencing game-breaking bugs!

    There isn't too much to see in this build, as I spent most of the time this week working on implementing the new TF/crafting system. It's a very simple system, but nevertheless, it took a lot of time to program it into the game (far longer than it should have, really...). The main idea behind this new system was to give you an easy way to get the TFs you want. Anyway, I won't go into too much detail here, as I'm sure you'll figure it out! ^^

      Apply lore-friendly descriptions to all the crafting stuff. ('Primary modifier', 'Secondary modifier', and things like that will be changed to be a little more descriptive.)
      Fix all the bugs that have been reported!

    Preview release time

    Hello, this is just a very small post to say that the preview release for version 0.1.7 will be out within the next couple of hours!

    I've spent this week implementing the new TF/crafting system, as well as putting the framework in place for harpies to be added to the game. There isn't any new story content or bug fixes in this preview version, as I've written the new story content down in my notes, which will be added to the game for the full release next Friday. I was focusing more on getting the code-side of things done this week, and next week will be a lot of writing, bug fixing and polishing! (So don't expect too much in this preview release!)

    Targets for 0.1.7

    Even with this new release schedule, I keep on forgetting to make this post on Mondays... Anyway, better late than never!

    As a note from last version's target to 'Try out a new blog style', I actually did try out some styles, but I found that they weren't as readable as this layout, so I've just kept the blog design as-is (don't fix what isn't broken I guess).

    Also, I just wanted to put out a reminder that the full version of 0.1.7 will be released on April 21st, but there will also be a preview version (most likely filled with bugs) released on April 14th.


    Goals for version 0.1.7:

    Add the next stage of the main quest.

    Add a new race related to the main quest. It begins with 'h' and ends with 'y'...

    Add pregnancy for Lilaya and Kate. This should have been done ages ago...

    Polish all the current sex scenes and NPC interaction scenes.

    Fix more bugs!

    Create a roadmap page on the blog.



    Final engine goal:

    v0.1.7: Implement a new system for TFs. I've brought this target back from 0.1.71 to this version, as I'm crazy and think I can get it done in time! (Now that I'm spending 2 weeks on each release, that means I have to do twice as much for each release, right?!)

    Mini hotfix

    I've updated the download links with a (really) mini hotfix, that should fix the issue of being stuck in never ending sex scenes...

    P.S. I'm going to have to get some sleep now. If there are any more big bugs, I'll get a more polished hotfix out tomorrow!

    I've put out another hotfix, and updated all the download links. I've fixed the problem with Brax's scene getting stuck if you choose to dominate him, as well as restoring the succubus's vagina if you chose to remove it in a previous encounter.

    Version 0.1.69.9 Release

    I actually put out a release on time for once! (Well, 25 minutes late, but at least it's not 2 days late like last week!)

    Anyway, this is (unfortunately) the last of the '69' versions. The next release will be version 0.1.7, and I'm going to be crazy and say that it will have an update to the main story, a new race, and a re-worked TF system, as well as lots of polish for all the content that's in this version. (Oh, and Lilaya's and Kate's pregnancy scenes!!!)

    In case you didn't play the preview version, 0.1.69.9 has introduced NPC persistence and clothing sealing mechanics. I plan on giving sealed clothing a much larger part in the game in the future, so if it seems a little pointless at the moment, that's only because this is just the groundwork for future content. I won't go on too much about what's new, as you can read the patch notes below! (I've added an 'Additions to preview version' section at the bottom for those of you who played the preview version.)

    Thanks once again for all of your feedback and comments! Thanks to your advice, I'm actually going to take a break this weekend (even though I want to keep on working).

    P.S. I've called the folder simply "Lilith's Throne" this time, instead of "Lilith's Throne v0.1.69.9", so it will be easier to drag/drop to overwrite old versions in the future.


    EDIT: I'm going to be doing a couple of hours of playtesting, and I've already found a couple of 'INVALID_TARGET_NAME' instances, so I'm going to go through and fix as many as I can, then update the download with a 'hotfixed version'. I'll edit this post once I've done that! (In about 3 hours maybe.)
    EDIT 2: Ok, I updated the download links with a super tiny hotfix. It's so small that I felt it didn't deserve a new post, it just fixed about 2 typos and a minor bug in the chair-sex position.

    • Attempted to fix the memory leak problems (I didn't manage to fix it yet, but I have a good idea of what's going wrong).
      Added: Parsing engine. You can access and try this out in the debug menu. (If you don't know the debug code, read the bottom of the readme!)
      Added: Clothing 'sealed' mechanics.
  • Gameplay:
    • Added: The start of NPC persistence. When you encounter an enemy, their home tile is marked on the map with a little mark. When you visit that tile, you will re-encounter that enemy there. (Only applies to enemies encountered in alleyways at the moment, and there are no special scenes written for a repeat encounter just yet.) After defeating them in combat, you can choose remove character to remove this character from the persistent character pool. (Thereby freeing up their home tile for someone else to move into.)
      Added: 'sealed clothing', with an associated side quest that triggers when you equip a piece of jinxed clothing.
      Removed the requirement of having the 'observant' perk in order to see enemy's combat stats. (I didn't want to lock critical gameplay information behind a perk.)
      Moved weather icon into related status effects.
      Slightly increased pregnancy chances.
      Removed the requirement of having a penis in order to have sex with Kate.
  • UI:
    • Added: Old java version warning to the main menu. Versions of java that are older than 0.1.8.0_102 may cause some UI elements to not render correctly.

    • Improved: Moved Kate's sex scene into an expanded 'chair-sex' position. (PLayer's actions for bottom position aren't written yet.)
      Added: A lot more 'self' options for both you and your partner. (Anal/Nipple fingering, Vagina/ass/nipple self-penetration with tail.)
      Added: 'Stop sex' action, which is only available when you're the dom or are in consensual sex. (It may be a little buggy in some sex scenes at the moment.)
      Added mutual orgasms to generic positions.
      Added a lot of options to chair-sex positions (anal, tail-fucking, getting tail-fucked, riding cock, riding cock anally, fucking nipples).
  • Bugs:
    • Finally fixed the piercing bugs that have been present since I put Kate into the game. (It turns out it was bugging out due to some unfinished masochist descriptions.)
      Fixed incorrect race identification bug at lower transformation levels.
      Fixed a lot of bugs in the clothing system.

    • Minor typo fixes and small edits to some descriptions.

    • Added: Pregnancy for the persistent NPCs. (I still need to improve all the descriptions for when you re-encounter these NPCs.)
      Added a status effect pop-up for when an arcane storm starts.
      Added 'Wearing a condom' status effect, for when you're wearing a condom. (Duh!)
      Drawn combat (both you and your opponent being defeated on the same turn) now awards victory to you instead of your opponent.
  • UI:
    • Temporarily disabled the main menu's 'Load Game' option until I can switch it to using the in-game save/load dialogue. (I didn't want to leave it active, as it was using an old FileChooser system that was broken on a lot of people's systems.)
      Added descriptions of sex and pregnancies to NPC's appearance (viewed using the 'characters present' button).
  • Sex:
    • Added: Pix's reward sex scene. (I plan on adding another sex scene for Pix in the future, so if this one isn't quite what you expected, there will be a more 'normal' one coming later!)
      Improved: Applied the new chair sex position to Lilaya as well as Kate.
      Added: Mystery 'sex' scene for April fool's day. (Yes, I know it's April 7th, but I had this written up a while ago, and it felt a shame not to include it...)
      Tidied up and fixed bugs in Ralph's and Brax's sex scenes. (Both Ralph's and Brax's scenes will be improved and polished for 0.1.7)
      Improved all 'ongoing' sex descriptions.
      Removed 'sex ends after X orgasms' mechanic. (Most NPCs will still choose to stop sex after they've orgasmed, but this paves the way for NPCs who will want multiple orgasms in the future.)
      Did some minor fixes to generic orgasm scenes to take into account who's wearing a condom.
      Replaced 'do nothing' with 'calm down'. (So now the only action you unlock from the denial fetish is 'Deny'.)
      Improved NPC decision making during sex. (Fixing a lot of instances where the NPC wouldn't take an obvious choice for penetration.)
      Your orifices now get lubricated by cum. (I'll add in partner-specific reactions to discovering creampied orifices at a later date.)
      NPCs will now use condoms and pills that you provide.
  • Parser:
    • Enabled nested parser commands in arguments. i.e. commands such as: [lilaya.speech(My name is [lilaya.name]!)] now work.
      Separated command 'moans' into 'moans' and 'moansVerb', to distinguish between the noun and verb form.
      Added finger-related commands.
  • Bugs:
    • Ralph no longer refreshes his inventory after sex.
      Fixed a bug in sex where some penetration actions wouldn't properly replace the previous penetration.
      Fixed some weather effect descriptions saying it was daytime at night.
      Correctly applied new parsing engine method to tooltip content.
      Fixed bug where in places a demon pregnancy wouldn't say what race you'd birthed. (Demonic pregnancies always give birth to imps.)
      Giving birth now takes into account your vaginas elasticity when calculating how much you were stretched out by.
  • Other:
    • Slightly improved text formatting in sex scenes.

    P.S. I'll be around for the next few hours, 'taking a break' (but really doing a tiny little bit more work), so if there's some sort of massive game-breaking bug, I'll be able to respond to it.

    Time estimate

    For once, I think I'm actually going to be on time for the release this week. I estimated 21:00 GMT (which is in an hour and a half from now), and I think I'll be able to make it.

    I've managed to get random NPC pregnancies working (amongst other things), but I'm not going to have enough time to get Lilaya's or Kate's pregnancy content in just yet (although both of their sex scenes are now using the greatly-expanded chair-sex positions). I know this is taking me ages to get done, but there were a huge number of other bugs and backlogged updates that I needed to get sorted out first. (They will 100% be in next week's preview version!)

    Anyway, the release should be out at 21:00 GMT, but if I find any unexpected bugs that delay it, I'll update this post to let you know!

    Version 0.1.69.9 Preview

    Right, so as I explained in the previous post, this is a preview build, which means that it's just a snapshot of what the game currently looks like. I'm just releasing it for those of you who don't mind experiencing game-breaking bugs!

    Preview builds, like this one, are likely to contain a lot of bugs and half-finished content, so if you don't want to deal with annoying bugs, please wait for next week's release!

    Lilith's Throne requires the latest version of Java to be installed on your computer.

    This is a preview build! It will contain annoying bugs and half-finished content!


    Patch Notes:


  • Engine:
    • Attempted to fix the memory leak problems (I didn't manage to fix it yet, but I have a good idea of what's going wrong).
      Added: Parsing engine. You can access and try this out in the debug menu. (If you don't know the debug code, read the bottom of the readme!)
      Added: Clothing 'sealed' mechanics. The underlying system that detects clothing removal got quite complex with this addition, and took up a lot of time this week...
  • Gameplay:
    • Added: The start of NPC persistency. When you encounter an enemy, their home tile is marked on the map with a little mark. When you visit that tile, you will re-encounter that enemy there.
      Only applies to enemies encountered in alleyways at the moment, and there are no special scenes written for a repeat encounter just yet.)
      After defeating them in combat, you can choose 'remove character' to remove this character from the persistent character pool. (Thereby freeing up their home tile for someone else to move into.)
      Please note: You can't get random NPCs pregnant just yet. I have to write some special scenes/pregnant variants for that!
      Added: 'sealed clothing', with an associated side quest that triggers when you equip a piece of jinxed clothing.
      Removed the requirement of having the 'observant' perk in order to see enemy's combat stats. (I didn't want to lock critical gameplay information behind a perk.)
      Moved weather icon into related status effects.
      Slightly increased pregnancy chances.
      Removed the requirement of having a penis in order to have sex with Kate.
  • UI:
    • Added: Old java version warning to the main menu. Versions of java that are older than 0.1.8.0_102 may cause some UI elements to not render correctly.
  • Sex:
    • Improved: Moved Kate's sex scene into an expanded 'chair-sex' position. (PLayer's actions for bottom position aren't written yet.)
      Added: A lot more 'self' options for both you and your partner. (Anal/Nipple fingering, Vagina/ass/nipple self-penetration with tail.)
      Added 'Stop sex' action, which is only available when you're the dom or are in consensual sex. (It may be a little buggy in some sex scenes at the moment.)
      Added mutual orgasms to generic positions.
      Added a lot of options to chair-sex positions (anal, tail-fucking, getting tail-fucked, riding cock, riding cock anally, fucking nipples).
  • Bugs:
    • Finally fixed the piercing bugs that have been present since I put Kate into the game. (It turns out it was bugging out due to some unfinished masochist descriptions.)
      Fixed incorrect race identification bug at lower transformation levels.
      Fixed a lot of bugs in the clothing system.
  • Other:
    • Minor typo fixes and small edits to some descriptions.

    P.S. It's a preview build! (Did I mention that?)

    New release schedule

    Hi, so first off, I'm still going to release 0.1.69.9 this evening (in about 2 hours), but it's going to be in a little bit of a rough state...

    As quite a few of you have noticed, my current release schedule isn't really working out very well. I keep on missing Friday's release target, and then end up working over the weekend in order to put a version out each week. I'll finally admit that this is starting to get a little bit stressful, so, after reading all your concerned comments about me overworking myself, I've decided to change the release schedule a little.

    New schedule:

    I've decided to move to a bi-weekly release schedule, in order to give me a good amount of time to fully polish and test each new release. However, I still kind of want to put something out every week, so I'm going to use the 'off-weeks' to put up a 'preview' build here on the blog.

    The 'preview' builds won't be announced anywhere else (like on TFGamesSite or fenoxo forums), as they're going to be unpolished snapshots of what state the game is in at that time (i.e. I'll just build whatever I have on that Friday and release it as a 'preview' build). To make things a little clearer, here's how the releases will look (with each release still taking place on a Friday):

    Week 1: Version X preview
    Week 2: Version X release
    Week 3: Version Y preview
    Week 4: Version Y release
    etc. etc.

    This week's release is '0.1.69.9P' release (with the P denoting that it's a preview build), so it will only be announced/released here on the blog, and is likely to contain a lot of half-finished content. If you only want to play 'full' releases of the game, then I'm afraid that you'll have to wait until next week for version 0.1.69.9...


    P.S. I'll still make sure that the preview builds work and that there are no huge game-breaking bugs, but please don't expect them to be as polished as the 'proper' releases.

    P.P.S. Thank you everyone for your concerns about my health/workload. This new release schedule will make things a lot less stressful! ^^

    Release time estimate (maybe a delay?)

    I'm really hoping to get version 0.1.69.9 released this evening before I go to sleep. I say 'hoping' because there's still a lot of work left to do on the sex scenes and pregnancy mechanics. I've had a really busy week, so I've only had about 3 days to work on this version so far (which is the reason for this delay).

    Anyway, I won't make any more excuses, I'll just say that there's a chance the release will be tomorrow. I'll update this post at 22:00 GMT to let you know if the release will be out this evening.

    EDIT:

    Unfortunately, I'm going to have to delay v0.1.69.9 by one more day. The added complexity of allowing jinxed clothing to be 'sealed' on to the player created a lot of refactoring work for sex scenes, so I haven't managed to finish Lilaya's and Kate's rewrites yet. Just so you know what state this version is currently in, here are the main points:

    Added:
    - Clothing sealing mechanics.
    - Persistent NPCs.
    - Parsing engine.

    Half-finished:
    - Lilaya's and Kate's scenes.
    - NPC pregnancy.

    I might be able to get this version finished before I go to sleep, but I think I'll just play it safe and say that it'll be released tomorrow evening. Even if it's in a buggy/unfinished state, I'll release it no later than Sunday 21:00 GMT.
